you have an extreme view of brokerage bus. you like to compare brokerage style accts with etf's b.c they are extreme opposites. would you alter your website to take into consideration reps of independent broker-dealer who charge a set advisory fee that includes all trades, admin and cusodian costs while providing a customized portfolio? Most, if not all, of your arguements against actively traded accts crumble. The conflicts are gone, the excess trading is covered by the rep's fixed fee and both client and rep are on the same side of the table....that is to say, if the acct balance goes up the rep gets a small raise and if the acct bal goes down the rep is punished with a decrease in pay.
