If you are looking for a Western hospital in Beijing you have few options. One hospital to consider is Beijing United Family Hospital (BJU). Details:
- Patients are not required to be members of the hospital in order to be treated.
- There is a 24-hour emergency room.
- Staff speaks both fluent Mandarin Chinese and English.
- BJU works with many major insurance companies and has direct billing agreements with a number of them including Aetna Life & Casualty, American International Assurance (blue-colored AIA Medical Card only), Industrial Insurance Company (Sampo Group), Blue Cross (Blue Cross Asia Pacific), International Medical Group, Integra Global, BUPA International, Allianz, CIGNA International, and JBI International Insurance.
- BJU works with other insurance companies on a case-by-case basis. (Note: If a tourist is admitted to BJU the staff can contact the patient's insurance company and arrange for direct billing.)
- Travel insurance is not required.
- BJU accepts cash and credit cards.
- Consultation fees are based on RVU. RVU or Relative Values for Physicians is a well-established relative pricing scale. Contact the hospital for rates.
